Heartland Truly Moving Pictures is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit that seeks out films that can inspire moments, change lives and spark conversation. For sixteen years, the annual Heartland Film Festival has recognized those independent filmmakers making these types of films, and in 2000 the Truly Moving Picture Award was created to honor studio-supported movies .
